Affordable Trademark Registration in the UAE: What It Really Costs and Where to Save
UAE Trademarks · Published 2026-09-19 · Updated · 1 min read
The cheapest trademark registration in the UAE still costs AED 6,500 per class – that is the Ministry of Economy & Tourism fee and no agent can reduce it. What varies is the professional fee and what it includes. Here is where genuine savings exist and where "affordable" quotes hide costs.

Where real savings exist
SME discount – 50%. Companies registered under the National Programme for SMEs and Establishments pay AED 3,250 per class. If you qualify, register with the programme before filing.
File the word mark only. One filing of the name protects it in any logo; add the logo later.
Choose classes carefully. Two classes cost twice as much; file the class you trade in now and add others when revenue justifies it. Classes →
File yourself if you are a UAE company – legally possible via UAE Pass, with no agent fee. Realistic only if you can draft the Arabic specification and handle office actions.
Skip the one-day examination (AED 2,250) unless a deadline depends on it.
Pay on time. Late penalties (AED 100–1,000 per month) are the most avoidable cost in the whole process.
Where "cheap" costs more
Quotes that show only the AED 750 filing fee.
No search, or an English-only search, followed by a refusal and a second filing.
Foreign platforms charging in dollars with the local associate's fee on top.
Office actions, translations and certified copies billed separately at hourly rates.
Missing the 30-day payment windows because nobody was tracking them.
