Trademark registration in Dubai cost

Trademark registration in Dubai costs AED 6,500 per class in government fees – the same as anywhere in the UAE, because trademarks are federal. The application goes to the Ministry of Economy & Tourism (MoET), not to Dubai's Department of Economic Development, and one registration protects the brand in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and every other emirate, including all Dubai free zones (DMCC, JAFZA, DIFC, Dubai Internet City and the rest).

Trade name vs. trademark in Dubai

Every Dubai licence carries a trade name reserved with the DED or the free-zone authority. That reservation costs a few hundred dirhams but gives no exclusive right to the brand: another company can register the same name as a trademark with MoET and stop you using it on products, signage and online. Most Dubai businesses need both – the trade name for the licence and the trademark for the brand. More on the difference →

How long registration takes in Dubai

Four to six months if nobody opposes: examination 1–3 months (one day with the expedited service), publication and a 30-day opposition window, then final registration and the electronic certificate. Stage-by-stage timeline →

Can a Dubai free-zone company register a trademark?

Yes. A free-zone licence is accepted in the same way as a mainland DED licence. The applicant name must match the licence exactly.
