UAE Trademark Official Fees

On 14 November 2025 a new schedule of trademark service fees came into force under Cabinet Resolution No. (102) of 2025, replacing the previous MoET fee list. The headline numbers for a standard registration did not rise, but the structure was simplified, new services were added and penalties were clarified.

Registration fees – unchanged

Stage Fee
Application & examination AED 750
Publication AED 750
Final registration AED 5,000
Total per class AED 6,500

Final registration for quality (certification) marks is AED 7,500.

What is new

1. One-day examination – AED 2,250. An expedited examination service: MoET issues the examination decision within one working day instead of 1–3 months. Publication and the 30-day opposition period still follow at normal speed, so the overall saving is roughly 1–3 months.

2. Renewal fees consolidated into two tiers. The old schedule had several overlapping categories for late renewals. Now:

Renewal filed Total
During the 10th year AED 6,500 (750 publication + 5,750)
Within 6 months after expiry AED 7,250 (750 publication + 6,500)

Monitoring/inspection marks: AED 8,250 on time, AED 9,750 late.

3. Late-payment penalties confirmed. Publication fee: AED 100 per month, max AED 1,000 per year. Final registration fee: AED 1,000 per month, max AED 10,000 per year. Part of a month counts as a full month.

4. 50% discount for SMEs. Companies registered under the National Programme for SMEs and Establishments pay half of every trademark fee. People of Determination are exempt.

5. New and re-priced services, including trademark agent registration and renewal (AED 7,500 for a branch of a foreign company), grievance against refusal (AED 5,000), and certified copies (AED 150).

Also from January 2026: Nice Classification 13th edition

From 27 January 2026 all new applications are classified under the 13th edition of the Nice Classification. Goods lists copied from older filings may need updating – check the classes list before filing.
